- Women’s Access to and Control over Economic Resources: Studying barriers to land ownership, property rights, credit, and financial services for women.
- Entrepreneurship and SME Development: Examining the specific challenges faced by women-owned businesses, including access to markets, technology, and networks.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR): Researching access to family planning, maternal healthcare, the impact of restrictive abortion laws, and the fight against Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C).
- Legal Empowerment and Access to Justice: Analyzing discriminatory laws (e.g., in family, citizenship, and inheritance) and the gap between formal legal rights and their implementation, especially for marginalized women.
- Gender-Differentiated Impacts of Climate Change: Investigating how women, due to their roles in water collection, subsistence agriculture, and fuel gathering, are disproportionately affected by climate shocks and stresses.
